ЛЕНИНГРАД - Mayor of Leningrad and local Party leader Nikolai Ivanovich Rurikov has today announced that, due to the efforts of not only himself but also the efforts of factory managers, production has increased in the city to nearly 200% of what it was before the Great Patriotic War or even during it. In his speech to the people of Leningrad, Nikolai Ivanovich told us of the efficiency and standardization methods he used to improve the countless furniture factories in the city, as well as extending efficiency methods to Leningrad's nascent concrete industry. "I sincerely hope all union bosses take note of this," Nikolai Ivanovich said to Pravda, "The cost-savings and efficiency methods we used can save our great nation over a hundred thousand rubles a day."

In line with the new Five Year Plan, Party Secretary Boris Nikolaivich Kapralov has ordered millions of Soviet men and women to work improving the nation's infrastructure, and the first city named in the improvement plan is Pskov. This city, alongside several other cities across the Soviet Union, have been chosen to receive upgrades to its road and rail transportation systems as well as a massive subway effort in larger cities, again such as Pskov. Party Secretary Boris Nikolaivich has said he hopes this plan will counteract the mass unemployment that is epidemic of so many brave comrades discharged from the Red Army following the Great Patriotic War.
